About the Easy Reader Voter Guide

This Easy Reader Voter Guide was prepared by the Key to Community Voter
Involvement Project led by adult reading students around the Bay Area.
It is funded by a grant from the California State Library to the Santa
Clara Library Reading Program, in partnership with The Center for Civic

Information about elections can be confusing and hard to understand. We
want you to have an election guide that is easier to read and explains
things clearly. The statements from the political parties and candidates
are their answers to our questionnaires. We wrote the rest. We hope
this guide helps you make informed choices.

Many people helped put this guide together. The group guiding overall
content is The Easy Reader Voter Guide Committee of the Bay Area New
Readers Council: Gloria Ashford, Claude Jones, Arthur Noble, Sherries
Oakmon, Jean Shields and Carey Call (staff). They have been generous
with their time and wisdom on this project.

Special thanks to Cathy Mitchell at the Secretary of State's Office.
Layout and graphics were the inspiration of Paula Hay at The Reading
